The reason we give it second position is that the guide is fully illustrated and it is explained in plain English so even the least mechanically inclined person can understand and implement the ideas. In terms of the quality of content with good diagrams, it is as good as Earth4Energy however, we feel with the video instructions Earth4Energy is still easier to understand. The parts to build the system can be acquired easily and the whole system can be set up with a few hundred dollars. The savings we experienced very slightly less than Earth4Energy.

Home Made Energy takes our number 3 position.  It is a very popular product and for a good reason: it gives good instructions for building solar and wind generators and also batteries.

We tested customer support with dummy questions for all guide providers and felt the response time with this one could be improved.

Although we recommend this product as well, the details in the Home Made Energy guide are not a match for the Earth4Energy guide.

Earth4Energy is just on another level, although Home Made Energy is a fine product and you can't go wrong with it.
